BOP
•Source and sink 100% of their current rating. See Figure 1. •Separate control circuits for voltage and current with automatic crossover to current and voltage limits. •All controls and flag signals accessible through a 50-pin rear programming connector at the rear. •Zeroable preamplifier available for scaling and summing external signals. •Optional digital displays. Specify by substituting the suffix "D" in place of the "M."

BOP Inductive load models
Kepco has introduced 200W (except BOP 200-1M) and 400W BOP models optimized for driving inductive loads. This option makes the BOP more suitable for a wide variety of applications such as motor testing, testing of magnetic components (coils, speakers, etc.), industrial applications with inductive loads, driving CRT coils, cryogenic applications and powering correcting magnets for medical imaging applications or particle accelerators. These BOP units are designed to operate in a stable manner in Current or Current Limit Mode for loads up to 1 Henry. They are also stable with any R-L series load combination.
All specifications of the unit in voltage mode are unchanged from the standard model. All specifications listed below are for inductive load models in Current Mode. All other specifications are identical to the standard BOP

Series BOP High Power
The BOP High Power are true 4-quadrant programmable voltage and current power supplies. 4-quadrant operation means that they are capable of both sourcing and sinking power. These bipolar power supplies pass smoothly through zero to provide true ± voltage and ± current. The BOP High Power use switch mode technology for low dissipation. To maintain low dissipation while sinking power from an active load, the BOP High Power recuperate the energy for reuse. The key to this is a bi-directional a-c input power factor correcting (PFC) circuit, which allows transparent energy interchange without dissipative sinking. The PFC circuit lowers the line harmonic distortion of the input current while maintaining a power factor greater than 0.97. The PFC works in both generation and recuperation modes.

Series BOP-HV
The Kepco Model BOP 500M and BOP 1000M are high voltage power sources, up to 500V or 1000V, respectively. These combine the capabilities of fast programmable power supplies with a Class A output stage, which can respond bidirectionally from zero. The BOP-HV can be operated in either a "voltage stabilizing" or "current stabilizing" operating mode (selectable by a front panel switch).
For lower voltage, higher current applications, Kepco's Series BOP is available in 100W, 200W and 400W sizes.
The term bipolar means that the voltage and current outputs can be made to vary smoothly and linearly through their entire plus and minus rated ranges, passing through zero with no polarity switching
